The Role

The Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Vantage Operations team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of network airport programs and operations. This role is responsible leading, conducting and delivering quality assurance audits on network operational programs to ensure compliance with respective regulatory requirements and for developing and implementing processes and timelines for quality assurance on network operational programs to ensure compliance with respective regulatory requirements.  The Operations Coordinator, will assist with the development of materials to support Vantage’s Operation Services offerings, and with the development of project proposals for new business opportunities as required.  This role will conduct research on airport operation trends and communicate potential changes to the airport network. The Operations Coordinator also develops training and educational materials to supplement ongoing network airport functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure documents are reviewed for regulatory compliance, and technical reports, templates, procedures and plans are prepared as required.
  • Support the development of training programs, courses, modules to be delivered to airport operational professionals.
  • Assist with the development of key operational programs and plans to be implemented at network airports. (Airport Wildlife Management Plan, Airport Emergency Response Plan, etc.) and documentation of same.
  • Develop system to monitor key regulatory deadlines (emergency exercises, notifications to regulator, anticipatory regulator inspections, ARFF category analysis, response tests, etc.) for network airports.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure Quality Assurance audits, peer reviews and MSA program reviews are conducted as required and support as needed, including development of checklists, conducting debrief presentations and providing reports outlining audit process and findings.
  • Provide SMS and QA support to network airports; review documents for regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate and provide ongoing training delivery for network airport staff based on operational needs.
  • Participate in network airport emergency planning and contingency support for tabletops and live exercises.  
  • Assist with the ongoing development of safety performance dashboards.
  • Ensure that all operational / regulatory compliance documents in the START library are reviewed and updated regularly. 
  • Responsible for keeping the operations regulatory library (ICAO, FAA, Transport Canada regulatory docs) current with the latest up to data manuals.  
  • Review and develop operational manuals for network airports as required.  
  • Develop materials including training programs, manuals, and operational plans to support the development of Vantage’s Operations Services business.
  • Support business development pursuits by as required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned.

Primary Qualifications

 

Holding a Business degree (aviation/business/operations related) or equivalent, you have 3-5 years recent experience working in aviation. Experience with and knowledge of the following would be a considered an asset: Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aerodrome Standards and Recommended Practices, Canadian Aviation Security Regulations, and ICAO airport-related annexes/documents; FAA regulations and circulars, IATA standards, CATSA and TSA processes.  SMS Experience considered an asset.

Primary Work Location - Remote or Hybrid
