    Located at Midway Airport in Chicago, this role is responsible for the management of the concession operations at Midway Airport in Chicago on behalf of Midway Partnership (“MP”), with the objective to maximize revenues, ensure efficient operations, superior customer service concession partners (Tenant) Lease compliance.  The Commercial Manager will be the primary liaison between MP and MP’s concession partners, while also maintaining strong relationships with the Chicago Department of Aviation staff members and other key stakeholders.  The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and proactively to provide project management as required. 

     

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    Midway Partnership Team

    • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with Midway Partnership parent companies and their local teams, including the F&B Operations Director and Retail Operations Director.
    • Establish, manage and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Chicago Department of Aviation, SSP America, Hudson Group, sub-tenants, regulatory agencies, airlines, vendors, and the wider airport community

    Commercial Activities

    • Maintain strong working relationship with all Concession Partners.
    • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all Concession Partners and staff.
    • Audit Concession Partner operations to insure compliance with Lease requirements and Standard Operating Procedures and work constructively with Concession Partners to resolve issues as they arise.
    • Develop and manage a customer experience program that includes mystery shops, passenger engagement surveys, employee incentives and employee training to insure the highest level of customer service to passengers.
    • Prepare operations reports, as needed, to partners, clients and executives.
    • Review and understand subtenant sales and key performance indicators to insure revenue generation is maximized and any issues are reported quickly.    
    • Act as the liaison between Concession Partners and Operation Directors for the safe and efficient operating of the program.
    • Ensure regular reporting and coordination with the Operation Directors and CEO.
    • Assist in the preparation, procurement and/or administration of contracts needed to promote efficient operations of the concessions business
    • In partnership with MP’s Operation Directors and Finance Department, develop common area maintenance budgets and insure subtenants are correctly billed.
    • Provide input to the annual plan and yearly budget as it relates to the Commercial Operations.

    Community

    • Serve as one of the ambassadors for the Company in the community as directed by the Operation Directors and CEO.
    • Represent the Company to industry.
    • Participate in community and privately sponsored events that add value to Midway Partnership and its growth.

     

    ABOUT YOU

    You have at least five years’ experience in a Commercial role with a demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of commercial programs.  Strong project management experience is a requirement.  You are also able to shift seamlessly between high level conceptual development and the need to focus your attention on complex details.  Your professional experience is supplemented by a relevant degree from an accredited university.

    You are a collaborative team play who also enjoys working independently and are comfortable working with a diverse set of stakeholders.  Additionally, you have:

    • a preference for working with an entrepreneurial, fast-paced team
    • demonstrated business acumen coupled with strategic, analytical and creative skills
    • an ability to manage multiple projects, while staying on budget and delivering on time without compromising quality
    • strong verbal and written communication skills, and,
    • a passion for learning and keen sense of curiosity
